1. Appearance:

   • These catfish are peaceful and gregarious, so its best to keep them in groups of at least 4 to 6 individuals.
   • They are facultative air breathers, rising to the surface of the aquarium to gulp in air due to their modified, highly vascularized intestine.
   • Be cautious when handling them, as their stiffened pectoral fin spines can pierce human skin and cause discomfort.
