Helix Bio-Mechanical Reactor Waterfall Filter

The Helix Bio-Mechanical Reactor combines the efficiency of our two favorite filters, The Helix Moving Bed Waterfall Filter and The Helix Bio-Mechanical Waterfall Filter. This filter provides not only great mechanical filtration, but also great biological filtration – the best of both worlds. This filter provides a large open area for lava rock media WITHOUT bags that typically would reduce flow rate.

For best results, use the Bio-Mechanical Reactor wherever total filtration is needed. This filter, coupled with a skimmer, will provide everything you need for high-quality pond filtration with reasonable regular maintenance that is easily accessible outside the pond. For ponds that already have a bog, bead filter, under gravel filter grid or other mechanical filtration, the Moving Bed Waterfall Filter adds amazing biological capability without adding anything to your maintenance routine.

• The Large Bio-Mechanical reactor is designed to be used in ponds ideally in the 3000-4000 gallon range and can handle up to 4000 gph flow through. It requires 100 lbs of lava rock or similar media (not included)
• The Small Bio-Mechanical reactor is designed to be used in ponds ideally in the 1000-2000 gallon range and can handle up to 4000 gph flow through. It requires 100 lbs of lava rock or similar media (not included)
• Air Assisted Cleaning Cycle – Use with an air pump (Not included) for increased dissolved oxygen levels.
• Large Bio-Mechanical Reactor used 40 LPM air pump (consider Hakko 40LP)
