For optimal usage, follow these directions:

Primary Usage:

Use 1lb (450g) of Bio-Substrate for every 1 gallon (3.8 litres) of water. Avoid rinsing before use. Spread the substrate and fill with water slowly to prevent stirring it up. Once the tank is filled, start your filter and any initial cloudiness should clear over time.

Mixed Usage:

Use 1lb (450g) of mixed LIVE Bio-Substrate and DRY Substrate for every 1 gallon (3.8 litres) of water. The mixing ratio is 1:4 (1 LIVE to 4 DRY). Do not rinse before use. Thoroughly mix Bio-Substrate and Dry Substrate. Then spread the mixed substrate and fill with water slowly, avoiding stirring it up. Once the tank is filled, start your filter and any initial cloudiness should clear over time. LIVE nitrosomas and nitrobacter bacteria are harmless to marine life. Use with any corresponding Dry Aqua Natural products for best results.
