What makes it different from a bead filter and so desirable? with the smaller AlphaNano beads, this filter works as good as a polishing filter as it does a Biological filter!TheAlpha Nanomedia has about 50% more surface area for Beneficial Bacteria to grow than a Bead Filter has for surface area.

How does it do this?
To answer this we have to understand the difference between bead filters and how they trap solids and how theAlphaNANOaccomplishes this task. Bead filters trap solids in the first few inches of the bead pac (causing clogging, flow disruption, and pressure rises in the vessel) while theAlphaNANOwith its uniquely designedAlphaNANOmedia stops the debris evenly throughout the pac (resulting in greater flow, less head or back pressure, less maintenance). The polishing ability of the filter is one its most desirable features, based upon comments that have come into us from the field.

TheAlphaNANOmedia was specially designed for this filter. It is not something borrowed from another industry or use.Its design is unique in that it was not designed with “crosshairs” as some other specialty types of media use. We left those out because in a static bed the “crosshairs” can collect and hold debris until it becomes anaerobic.
