10 Catappa Leaves

We use these leaves in to store to help promote fish health and a great food for the shrimp.

Catappa Leaves have chemical healing properties which maynaturally helpfight off mild bacterial, fungal or parasitic infections. Therefore, these leavesare great for many different types of livestock includingbettas, shrimp,community fish and more.

In nature,Terminalia catappaleaves will fall into rivers and other bodies of water and will tint the water a rich brown ‘tea’ coloras they break down. This is due to chemical compounds found within the leaves called tannins.For this reason, Catappa leaves are often used in blackwater setups to achieve deeper brown colored water and for leaf litter on the bottom.

You get 10 Catappa leaves per package. Leaf size ranges from 4 to 7 inches, typically.

• For shrimp, replace the leaf when it has been mostly consumed.
• For Bettas and other fish when using the leaves for healing, use them until they stop turning the water brown. We use 1 leaf per 5 gallons.
