Aqua Alkaline Buffer 236ml Freshwater

A non-phosphate buffer formulated to raise pH and buffer your aquarium water when used with MICROBE-LIFT/Aqua Acid Buffer. These two buffers are dedicated for the planted aquarium or for very hard water where phosphate buffers may pose an algae problem.

MICROBE-LIFT/Aqua Alkaline Buffer, when combined with MICROBE-LIFT/Aqua Acid Buffer, will buffer between 6.0 and 8.7. It is very gentle, safe and revitalizes the freshwater environment. This product is compatible with all other MICROBE-LIFT buffers.

Note: When used by itself this product will raise the pH to 8.2-8.3.

Directions

Use 5 mL of the MICROBE-LIFT/Aqua Alkaline Buffer for every 2.5 gallons (10 L) of tank volume on a daily basis until the desired pH is obtained. At this dosage, alkalinity will be raised by about 0.4 meq/L (1.2 dKH). If your aquarium’s water is soft or not well buffered use with MICROBE-LIFT/Aqua Acid Buffer.

MICROBE-LIFT/Aqua Alkaline Buffer may be added to the aquarium directly at any time. It has a preference to buffer between a pH of 8.2-8.3, but can also be used to adjust to any pH from 6.0-8.7 when used in combination with MICROBE-LIFT/Aqua Acid Buffer at the fixed ratio below (see chart).

Important

When using Aqua Acid Buffer in combination with Aqua Alkaline Buffer never mix directly in your tank. First, premix in a clean bucket with 2 gal. of R/O, DI or dechlorinated tap water. Always add the Aqua Acid Buffer first. Once the desired pH is reached in the bucket, add the premixed solution quickly to the aquarium. You may notice a tint in the bucket of water; however, when poured into your aquarium any tint will dissipate. Some cloudiness may appear in the aquarium after addition, but this will quickly clear up.

Multiply calculated dosage times number in column to determine amount required to adjust to desired pH.
