This coral thrives under low to moderate lighting and low to medium water flow, which helps keep the polyps extended and the coral healthy. While it primarily relies on photosynthesis via its symbiotic zooxanthellae, Acanthophyllia will benefit from occasional feedings of small plankton or coral foods to support growth and coloration, especially in tanks with lower nutrient levels.
